John McCarthy thinks Dana White has a motive behind the WWE-Endeavor deal
In a recent episode of their show ‘Weighing In,’ veteran MMA referee John McCarthy and ex-UFC star Josh Thomson discussed the rumored WWE-Endeavor deal. The MMA stalwarts analyzed what it would mean for either promotions and if the deal was good or bad.
Speaking of the deal, Big John jokingly said, “I’m looking at it like this: This is Dana’s attempt to get Ronda Rousey back.”
In response, Josh Thomson said, “I’m just wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Only because now you’re splitting your funds both ways. I know it’s very profitable. Both of them are very profitable…”
‘The Punk’ added, “I want to know if it’s a good thing. I think it will be because now you can do like a cross-promotion between… You start seeing UFC guys in the WWE. And you start seeing maybe some WWE guys starting to trickle over a little bit.”

UFC stars have crossed over to the WWE and made big money- the aforementioned Ronda Rousey is a prime example. Former UFC champion Brock Lesnar came to the promotion from the WWE. Therefore, the deal could open the doors for such crossovers.
Even UFC’s biggest PPV star Conor McGregor teased interest in the WWE after the news broke. However, fans will have to wait and see if Dana White will allow any such events to happen. The UFC head honcho has never shown an interest in crossover shows with other promotions.
