UFC CEO Dana White has worked from fingers to the bone to take UFC to great heights. In the initial phase of the promotion, people were not ready to accept men fighting each other as a sport. They considered it barbaric, as it involved a lot of violence. Back then, White never even considered the idea of women fighting each other, as he knew the public would never accept it. However, things changed tremendously over the years, and the inaugural women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, played a huge role in the same.

During a recent interview, White remembered how Rousey not only changed the mindset of the crowd but also of him. Now, 10 years after Rousey’s UFC debut fight, the UFC CEO totally believes that women can showcase brilliant fights by following all the technical aspects of MMA. Surprisingly, as the father of a teenage girl, White was recently asked if he would let his daughter fight. What would have been his answer?

Dana White was having an interview with the renowned TV personality Piers Morgan. During the chat, Morgan said that, as the father of a girl child, he wouldn’t let his daughter choose fighting as her career. Later, he asked whether White would be supportive if his daughter, Savannah White, wanted to be an MMA fighter. As an answer to the question, White said, “I famously got hammered like 10 years ago saying women would never fight in the UFC and then I met Ronda Rousey.”

White further added, “I never expected these women to be as technical and as badass as they have been and the answer to that question is yes, if my daughter wanted to fight I would absolutely let her fight. I wouldn’t stop my daughter from doing anything or competing in anything that she wanted to do. I would actually be very supportive and help in any way that I possibly could.” Presently, Dana White believes that women participating in MMA fights are completely normal and widely accepted by combat sports lovers.
