Israel Adesanya has always been vocal about his fascination with the WWE. The UFC middleweight champion has expressed interest in appearing for the promotion on multiple occasions. Considering his exposure to the brand, he had the perfect response for Paul Heyman after the latter made a very specific demand from ‘Stylebender.’

‘Izzy’ recently made an appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani. The veteran analyst and the UFC star talked for almost an hour, discussing various subjects, including Adesanya’s rivalries and future fight plans. During the conversation, Helwani brought up Heyman’s message to the champion, asking him what he thought about it. Prior to the show, Helwani had shared the news of Adesanya’s in-studio appearance on his social media. Paul Heyman shared it via his Instagram story with a message for Helwani. He wrote, “While this great champion is in your studio tomorrow, please be sure to have him ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRIBAL CHIEF!”

Being one of the best managers in the business, Heyman did not waste an opportunity to push his client Roman Reigns’ name into the spotlight. Meanwhile, Adesanya was clueless as to what had prompted the message.

Israel Adesanya responds to Paul Heyman’s taunt

Adesanya came across Paul Heyman’s message for the first time when Helwani brought it up. The 33-year-old was visibly surprised at the turn of events. In fact, Adesanya had stopped following the WWE so long ago that he was unfamiliar with the lay of the land despite being familiar with some of the current WWE stars.

As Helwani explained that “The Tribal Chief’ was WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Adesanya said, “I know who he [Roman Reigns] is. He got the long hair, big tattoos; handsome dude.”

However, the City Kickboxing star had no idea what prompted Heyman’s message. He asked, “What did I do?” Later, he added, “Paul Heyman. I know he was Brock Lesnar’s manager for a long time. I’ve seen him get f***ing body-slammed a few times. F5’d. How do I respond to this? What do I…? F**k. If I see him, I’ll take a steel chair and take it to his head or something.”
