Before her fight with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35, Ronda Rousey made some remarks that sent shock waves across the pro wrestling fandom. ‘Rowdy’ took to her YouTube channel and called wrestling ‘scripted’ and ‘not real’. According to the former UFC champion she wanted fans to actually hate her and never cared about her image.

She now made it clear that the reason behind her attitude was none other than Chael Sonnen. The 47-year-old was one of the best trash talkers in the business and had advised Rousey to never back down from her words. During a recent interview, she said, “It was actually Chael Sonnen. I will give it to him. [He’s] like one of the greatest MMA heels of all time.”

Rousey further pointed out how fans found it difficult to differentiate between the character and the person. But all such claims had no effect on her as ‘Uncle Chael’ had already advised her. According to the 47-year-old, Rousey was never allowed to accept that she was doing anything for reaction.

She further added, “Where they are like ‘Oh you know, sorry about everything. I was just saying it to promote the fight.’ Don’t just ever admit it. Don’t you ever let anybody [know] that you took them for a ride. Don’t you ever let them know what you said, that was purposefully to get a reaction.”
