During a recent interview with ‘Sports Illustrated‘, UFC CEO Dana White opened up on his thoughts about former WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. The 78-year-old and White have been two of the biggest promoters in the last few years. The UFC boss mentioned how they did not have the best relationship before their promotions merged to form TKO Group Holdings. White said, “My history with Vince isn’t a good one… but that’s in the past. Now that Vince and I are allies, no one’s been a better partner than Vince.”

Dana White and Vince McMahon both took their respective promotions to two of the biggest sports and entertainment giants in the world. Now that they work together, the UFC CEO claims that McMahon is now a different person. “Since day one of the deal, it’s like I’m dealing with a different guy,” said the 56-year-old promoter.

Dana White also mentioned that Vince McMahon is as ruthless as they come when he’s at the opposing end. However, as a partner, there is no one better than the former WWE chairman and CEO. “It goes to show that when you oppose him, or he thinks you are opposing him, the guy comes after you blindly. Once you are aligned, Vince is an incredible partner,” said White. It remains to be seen what heights they reach together given that now they are partners.

Francis Ngannou talks about Jon Jones’ injury

‘The Predator’ is gearing up for his first-ever boxing match, which will take place this weekend against Tyson Fury. Although he’s left the UFC, Francis Ngannou is still aware of the developments taking place at his former workplace. He recently appeared in an open workout ahead of his boxing match and gave his take on the injury situation of Jon Jones. ‘Bones’ recently tore his pectoral muscle, which ruled him out of UFC 295.

“It’s a sad news. It’s never a good news when athletes get injured basically in training,” said Ngannou. ‘The Predator’ wished Jon Jones a speedy recovery, and appeared to have no bad feelings towards the UFC heavyweight champion. He added, “I hope he recovers well. I was very excited to watch that fight and to see who’s going to win that fight.” It remains to be seen how long Jones will be out of action.

The UFC 295 card saw a new fight added after Jon Jones pulled out due to injury. Tom Aspinall will now fight Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight championship in the co-main event. Meanwhile, the English fighter also revealed that the UFC asked Stipe Miocic if he’d like to fight Pavlovich after Jones’ pullout. But the former 2-time champion did not want that fight.

Instead, Stipe Miocic is focused on his wish to fight only Jon Jones. He does not want the interim title but would fight directly for the heavyweight title against the reigning champion. This seemingly confirms that Miocic is not going to make his return this year and, as per recent reports, the UFC may just book a fight between him and Jones in 2024. We will have to wait and see how that pans out.
