He recently appeared in an open workout ahead of his boxing match and gave his take on the injury situation of Jon Jones. ‘Bones’ recently tore his pectoral muscle, which ruled him out of UFC 295.

“It’s a sad news. It’s never a good news when athletes get injured basically in training,” said Ngannou. ‘The Predator’ wished Jon Jones a speedy recovery, and appeared to have no bad feelings towards the UFC heavyweight champion. Tom Aspinall revealed that Stipe Miocic only wanted to fight Jon Jones

Instead, Stipe Miocic is focused on his wish to fight only Jon Jones. He does not want the interim title but would fight directly for the heavyweight title against the reigning champion. This seemingly confirms that Miocic is not going to make his return this year and, as per recent reports, the UFC may just book a fight between him and Jones in 2024.
