UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre “Would Never Close a Door” as He’s Offered WWE Deal Providing They Only Call Him Up for “Special” Appearances

Fighters transitioning from MMA to Pro Wrestling are not uncommon. Names like Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, and Matt Riddle have competed in the UFC as well as the WWE. Georges St-Pierre was also asked recently if he would be willing to follow the same pattern and seek success in the WWE ring.

Georges St-Pierre, a legend in mixed martial arts and the UFC, recently made a brief appearance at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2023. The Canadian fighter was present to support Sami Zayn, another Canadian, who was facing Roman Reigns in the main event. Georges St-Pierre discussed the idea of entering the WWE ring with Ariel Helwani when he was in a backstage interview with him.

During the interview with Ariel Helwani, Georges St-Pierre was asked if he had any interest in pursuing a career in WWE. The former UFC champion admitted that he was open to making a special appearance, but he could not commit to a long-term deal due to his other commitments.

“I would never close a door to maybe an appearance, or something like this, but to go on the road for a long time. I have other priorities, I am happy where I am at. But I will never say no to an appearance or something special. Why not? It would be fun,” said GSP.

Although retired, GSP looks to be in good physical shape and can make surely an occasional appearance in the WWE ring. The Canadian fighter pledged his allegiance to a compatriot at Elimination Chamber.

 St-Pierre backed Sami Zayn

St-Pierre was very supportive of Zayn’s main event match and rooted for the fellow Canadian. “It’s David against Goliath, it’s gonna be amazing. Even if the odds are not on his side, I think my boy gonna get it tonight,” said GSP.

However, Sami Zayn lost to Reigns but the fans still saw him as their hometown hero. The fans greeted the Montreal native with thunderous applause when he entered the ring. Zayn and Reigns put up a phenomenal performance to match sky-high expectations.

The MMA world regards Georges St-Pierre as one of the best MMA fighters ever. He has had outstanding success in the sport and has won UFC’s welterweight and middleweight titles. With his recent remarks about a “special” WWE appearance, fans are excited to see him perform in the WWE ring.
