How surprised would you be if you saw Conor McGregor in the main event of next year’s WrestleMania? According to the latest talks in the town, that may be a distant possibility in the future. The latest reports say that the UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, is preparing to buy the WWE. This means the two biggest promotions could be under the same roof.
Ever since the news broke, fans have been discussing the possibility of seeing UFC stars crossover to the WWE and vice versa, although most of them mean it jokingly. However, the opportunist in Conor McGregor sees another chance to add to his legacy.
His reaction to the news fetched a curt response from veteran WWE figure Paul Heyman. Unsurprisingly, McGregor had a retort for the advocate of the current WWE champion.

Conor McGregor and Paul Heyman go head-to-head after WWE-Endeavor news
Following the news of Endeavor getting ready to buy the WWE, Conor McGregor tweeted a congratulatory message. ‘The Notorious’ one gave props to the UFC and its parent company, Endeavor, for the “scoop”, calling them a “powerhouse.”
Congrats to the @ufc now worth a cool Proper $12bn. Wow! Endeavor bout to scoop the @WWE now also. Incredible. What a powerhouse!

In classic McGregor fashion, the 34-year-old also tweeted a picture of himself holding both UFC and WWE Championship belts. He tagged the promotions and wrote “#itsinevitable.” This prompted a rather unfriendly response from Paul Heyman. The 57-year-old tweeted, “@TheNotoriousMMA is a @WWERomanReigns wannabe!!!”

One of the best promoters in the business, Heyman, used the opportunity to highlight his client and current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns‘ name right next to that of the ex-UFC champion.
However, McGregor had a fiery reply of his own. He wrote, “Careful Grampa. I’ll show up and break your jaw in 3 places.”

Both McGregor and Heyman are mammoth figures in their respective businesses. Their back-and-forth will attract a lot of attention to the WWE-Endeavor proceedings. So, what do we know about the deal so far?
A closer look at the WWE-Endeavor deal
According to Reuters, Endeavor Group Holdings is in advanced talks to purchase the WWE. As per their reports, anonymous sources confirmed it will be an all-stock deal. Endeavor shareholders will own 51% of the shares while the remaining 49% will stay with WWE shareholders.

As it stands, the WWE has a market value of $6.8 billion. Meanwhile, a report from CNBC regarding the same says that the Endeavor-WWE deal values the UFC at $12 billion (therefore McGregor’s “Proper $12bn” reference in the tweet). The reports also stated that the deal could be announced this week.
With things moving at such a high pace, do you think we could see a crossover between the UFC and WWE in the future? Do you think we’ll see Conor McGregor add a WWE title to his mantle, like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey?
