After Amanda Nunes lost to Julianna Pena at UFC 269, the UFC women’s champion contemplated retiring from the UFC. She had some plans for herself with multiple options. However, she had also emphasized that she hadn’t completely made up her mind but was inclined to take the decision.

UFC President Dana White was really impressed with this decision and the fans couldn’t be happier. However, she has some other plans in the pipeline as well.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Nunes, when talking about deciding to retire and then rethinking her decision and coming back with a bang, said, “I was a little confused about the whole thing, you know, but like as soon as I got home soon, because I drive back and I take a couple of days to be at home, and I was thinking about a lot of things – What i can do, what I have to change; you know.“.

I decided no retire because retire, leave my belt with Julianna. No way. No way! No way. Can be with somebody else but with Julianna? No, so.. And I know I can kick her ass, you know. Anytime I want.“, added the UFC women’s featherweight champion about her primary reason for returning to the Octagon.

That day was like a day, Im thinking like she’s supposed to like, win that day, you know. I was supposed to make the mistake that I make – to fight without being really my great shape, and I pay for and I never gonna do that again, ever. Ever, ever ,ever!” added Nunes, as she recalled her loss to Julianna Pena.
