During a recent interview with ‘Submission Radio’, Colby Covington talked about a variety of subjects, including his future fights and other fighters. As the conversation turned towards the recent merger of UFC and WWE, the 35-year-old fighter expressed his thoughts on this development, saying, “I couldn’t be more excited that, you know the, two of my first loves since I was a little kid and knew anything about combat sports are finally under the same umbrella together. The UFC and WWE merger. So it’s amazing, man.”

Continuing on this topic, the former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion stated, It gets me so excited for my future. Like, not only am I going to unify my ‘King of Miami’ belt and go get the undisputed title this summer and beat fumble mouth Leon Edwards scissorhands. But I do see myself crossing over into the WWE and becoming a multi-champ. A multi-time world champion over there.”

Putting forth his plans of making it big in both the UFC and WWE simultaneously, Covington also named the WWE star whom he looks up to.

The WWE boasts a plethora of big stars with a global fan following. However, one fighter that stands out above the rest is Roman Reigns. Like millions of his fans around the world, Colby Covington is also one of his admirers. Speaking about Reigns, the UFC welterweight expressed his admiration, saying, “It’d be an honor to share the ring with him. The guy’s, you know, unquestioned- You know, probably the G.O.A.T. of WWE.”

Covington continued, “The things he’s done in that sport and just the longevity of his career, how he’s been able to stay on top of the game forever as the best in the world and WWE. It’s inspiring.”
