UFC color commentator Joe Rogan sat down with WWE legend Mark Calaway aka ‘The Undertaker‘ recently, in his podcast JRE. Among many things discussed, was Calaway’s former ring partner Brock Lesnar‘s UFC stint, especially his fight against Alistair Overeem.
Lesnar managed to become the UFC heavyweight champion at one point in time, but dropped the belt to Cain Velasquez. He had surgery to get his intestine removed and had to take a layoff subsequently. At UFC 141, he took on former K-1 champion Alistair Overeem and came up short. Given ‘The Demolition Man’s’ physique, Rogan offered his thoughts on the fighter and the UFC’s testing program at the time.

“You know, Alistair at the time was, he was hopped up on all the Mexican supplements. That was when they had they had a silly drug testing program. It moves basically like an intelligence test,” Rogan said on the topic.
He added, “Alistair Overeem. When he’s fighting Brock Lesnar. It is the most preposterous physique in the history of the sport... “Bam. Look at that. What is that about? I mean, what are you f**king talking about? Are you out of your mind? That is a preposterous physique.”
The UFC commentator spoke about Overeem’s biceps. He said, “He had small children live in his biceps and he just smashed Brock. It was just Brock really shouldn’t have been fighting. Yeah, no, he came back with major surgery and his trainers. They were concerned,”

‘The Demolition Man’ is currently on a two-fight winning streak. He has managed back-to-back stoppage wins over Walt Harris and Augusto Sakai, respectively. Overeem is currently 40-years old, but he still has the capability to challenge the division’s elites.
He will be looking to prove that he can still make a run for the title when he takes on Alexander Volkov on February 7. The two heavyweights are set to lock horns at the main event of a UFC Fight Night card on that date.

Overeem doesn’t look as buff as he does almost a decade later, but a then and now comparison of him would certainly feature a stark contrast.
