After retiring from the ring earlier this year, Jorge Masvidal has committed himself to being a promoter. Although the Cuban-American left the door open for a comeback if “the right fight” came along, and recently offered to rematch Ben Askren, he is, for all practical purposes, retired. He is the founder and owner of Gamebred Boxing Promotion, iKON FC, and Gamebred Fighting Championship.

Despite never winning a championship, the former BMF belt-holder is one of the most famous personalities in MMA due to his charisma, passion, and the energy he brought to the cage. And he revealed that he wants to get on the WWE roster if the promotion were to offer him a contract.

In an interview with ‘ESPN MMA’s YouTube channel, Masvidal revealed that while he was not a fan of the WWE growing up, he came to appreciate it as time went on. He didn’t like the promotion as he felt there was less action and more talking than he would prefer.

“I’m not gonna say I was a fan but the thing that would upset me was like a lot of talking, no actual fighting. I wasn’t smart enough in a way to like, oh, it’s a pretend thing, you gotta just enjoy. It’s more like theater, but knowing my mind I was like I want action,” he said.

‘Gamebred’ praised Razor Ramon, the WWE character played by Scott Hall, based on Masvidal for his aesthetics and mic skills. Razor Ramon is a Cuban from Miami who served as a heel in the promotion.

“Of course I know what Razor Ramon is… Scott Hall. [The WWE should] get the real street gangster Latino from Miami that actually went out there put it all on the line over 50 something times. Let’s go WWE. What are they waiting for man? Send me the contract already. He did a good job, though, playing the part, you know.”

He reiterated that he wants to join the WWE if they want the real deal. Clearly, Masvidal has not lost the fire and passion that made him so beloved among fans. And with his effortless trash-talk skills, distinct appearance, and fighting prowess, the Cuba native would be an ideal addition to the WWE. What do you think about Masvidal’s desire to join the WWE?
