The UFC and WWE merged recently to form arguably the biggest sports and entertainment company in the world, TKO Group Holdings. Both promotions have proved themselves to be the titans of their disciplines since their inception. However, in a recent turn of events, Dana White and his promotion surpassed Vince McMahon‘s promotion in 2022.

The UFC has seen many ups and downs throughout its existence. From getting banned in several states in the US to holding some of the biggest combat sports events in history. However, as per a recent report, Dana White’s promotion has exceeded expectations and looks to continue its upward trajectory.

A recent report from ‘Variety‘ showed that 2022 was one of the best years for the UFC. The promotion, which was established in 1993, has grown to become the hottest place for MMA fighters to showcase their prowess inside the cage. Meanwhile, the report showed that the UFC has amassed over 700 million fans in more than 170 countries worldwide.

Valued at $12.1 billion, the UFC has also earned around $628.7 million in 2022. This is $244.1 million more than the WWE, who earned a sum of $384.6 million last year. Moreover, the UFC is worth $2.8 billion more than WWE, whose value stands at $9.3 billion. Not only that, the UFC’s success comes with a lot fewer events than Vince McMahon’s WWE. UFC’s success comes with fewer events than WWE

MMA Journalist Jed I. Goodman revealed his findings when WWE was shown holding more than 300 events a year. It is no surprise that the wrestling promotion will have more events than the UFC since they have weekly shows – RAW and SmackDown. On the contrary, Dana White’s promotion has held just over 40 events but still managed to overshadow WWE in terms of the revenue earned.

It is important to note that WWE also garners revenue from the sales of its merchandise. There are many popular superstars who have numerous variations of merchandise under their name- from T-shirts to action figures, WWE has every product for every age group. However, that still did not help save the show.

Although their experience is different, with one confined to a singular combat sport and the other focusing more on sports entertainment, nonetheless both are fight promotions.
