Dana White Already Gives His Verdict on Dwayne Johnson Starrer Movie on UFC Legend From No-Holds Barred Era

The Hollywood star in Dwayne Johnson may just have found the perfect role and Dana White can’t wait for it. ‘The Rock’ will be working with the famous A24 Studio to recreate the life of one of the UFC’s most famous fighters, Mark Kerr. Who is Kerr and what did White say about it?

Mark Kerr competed in the UFC back in the late Nineties with his first-ever bout being at UFC 14. The heavyweight is a two-time champion in the promotion and a legend by all means. Now that Johnson will be playing him in the next film, will the UFC let him film inside the Octagon?

Dana White loves Johnson’s next project

Dwayne Johnson is one of the world’s most accomplished WWE wrestlers and actors. Him playing a UFC fighter is a rather interesting development, especially after the company merged with the WWE. Dana White took to his socials to congratulate ‘The Rock’ on his move.

“Congrats @TheRock It’s going to be an AWESOME move my brother” White wrote in a post. Certainly, he’s excited for the movie to come. The director will be none other than Benny Safdie, one half of the accomplished Safdie Brothers. The two have created magnificent films such as Uncut Gems and Good Time before.

A24 being in on the project is yet another exciting detail. The studio that became supremely famous for its cult classic low budget horror films has now expanded into many genres of drama, comedy, and so much more. Johnson himself has previously played himself in a sort of biopic about WWE star Paige.

But will things change for this role? That’s what everyone expects. The life of Mark Kerr as an MMA fighter was markedly different from Johnson’s as he competed within the WWE. Training and maneuvers used inside the cage might be the difference maker for ‘The Rock’ to learn. But what was Kerr like?

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Kerr was half Irish and half Portuguese. He started off his career with wrestling and like any wrestler in his time, dreamt of being in the World Wrestling Federation, the WWF. Interestingly, in 1992 he would come second at the World Cup, just behind Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.

He couldn’t make it to the 1996 Olympics and had to scrape around to look for ways to make money. That’s when the UFC came in.
