The UFC came into existence back in 1993 and the first time people heard of the WWE (formerly WWF) was back in 1953. WWE became really popular among fight fans all across the world and paved the way for other companies to build their game in combat sports. When UFC stepped onto the scene, it already had a certain audience to cater to.

Now, so many years later, it seems that the fans of WWE and the fans of the UFC have been united. The two companies have signed a merger, the value of which makes the parent company, TKO, one of the most profitable entities in the market of sports and entertainment. UFC and WWE have formed a coalition. The merger between the two companies happened on 12 September. According to reports, UFC owns 51% of the newly formed company while the rest 49% went to the original shareholders of WWE. However, the question that remains is, what about Vince McMahon? Will he still be associated with ‘TKO’ or the WWE, the same way as he was before?

In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator was seen talking about this exact thing, with Olympic gold medalist and former WWE star Kurt Angle. “ What’s he gonna do now? What’s he gonna do now? Cause his whole life, was wrestling, wrestling, wrestling!“, Angle asked, while in the middle of talking about Vince McMahon and his role in WWE.

Isn’t he still involved in the company?“, asked Rogan, as he was informed that McMahon had stepped down as the creative head. “Okay, I heard he stepped back from the creative position.“, said Kurt Angle as well. Rogan, on the other hand, seemed to question the legitimacy of this decision and wondered if it was all just part of the hyping act. “You gotta wonder with him, how much of it is a storyline.“, he said, before he shouted saying, “I’m back!“, in classic Vince McMahon style.

While the integration of the two companies ensures exciting times for fight fans, one thing seems really unlikely, no matter how heartbreaking it may be to some fans. Crossover fights might not be on the agenda for the top brass at ‘TKO’. Most changes and integrations will be done behind closed doors. However, there are valid concerns in the air, over this merger as more than 100 employees have already been fired.
