In the movie industry, there’s absolutely nothing that actors want more than getting recognized for their craft. To do that, winning an Oscar is always the goal because it validates the work they do. Meanwhile, some actors prefer to see the commercial side of things, and there’s no bigger commercially successful actor than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The former WWE champion has had multiple box office successes with his movies grossing billions of dollars.

But is that it? Well, Dana White doesn’t think so. Now that Johnson is working on an upcoming movie based on MMA legend Mark Kerr, the UFC CEO believes that the movie, ‘The Smashing Machine’, can earn ‘The Rock’ an Oscar. “The Rock will kill this. He will nail this role. I know how serious he’s taking this, I know who’s working with him, and I know how hard he’s working on this film. I think that this could be the opportunity for The Rock to actually be nominated for an Oscar,” Dana White told Collider.

Dwayne Johnson has never been nominated for an Oscar role, but can this be it? Is ‘The Smashing Machine’ going to get him the biggest honor of his career at the age of 52? We’ll have to wait to see how this movie pans out. Meanwhile, ‘The Rock’ wasn’t the only person who received praise, as White shared some positive words for Joe Rogan.

UFC CEO heaped praises on Joe Rogan

It’s been over 30 years, and the UFC is now the hottest organization in the entire combat sports world. The promotion has millions and millions of fans, but things, as fans already know, weren’t easy because Dana White and the Fertitta brothers had to fight to legitimize the sport of MMA, which was dubbed as “human cockfighting.” However, the addition of Joe Rogan in the promotion helped the sport gain some traction among fans as the 56-year-old walked them through every move that a fighter made while he was on commentary.

“One of the key components [for UFC’s rise] was Joe Rogan, who is the greatest UFC play-by-play fight guy ever. He’s a guy who’s really educated on the sport, he’s actually done it, loves and respects the sport, and the athletes. And Joe Rogan had this ability to walk you through what was happening before it actually started to happen,” Dana White stated on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

Well, Joe Rogan deserves his praise because he never stops talking about the sport, be it live on air or on his podcast. Now, let’s take a look at the final piece of noteworthy news, involving Conor McGregor.

Yes, folks! Everybody’s chiming in to share their take regarding the cancelation of the initial UFC 303 main event after Conor McGregor pulled out because of an undisclosed injury. While MMA veterans have expressed being worried about the Irishman’s future, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul went right in with some harsh words for the first-ever UFC dual-weight champion. ‘The Problem Child’, in an unfiltered way, claimed that McGregor lost a lot of respect after pulling out of what seemed like it could have been the biggest comeback in the history of the UFC.

“He hasn’t won a fight in what six, seven years? I don’t even know how long it has been. He’s embarrassing himself, he’s ruining his legacy with all the drugs and the way he looks online. He’s lost his mind, he’s a maniac,” said Jake Paul on The MMA Hour. Well, Conor McGregor or his team haven’t spoken anything about retirement, and there’s a belief that he might come back soon.

If MMA doesn’t work out now, ‘The Notorious’ can always jump to the boxing world and possibly fight Jake Paul. Would you like to see that fight? Let us know in the comments.
