Jorge Masvidal made yet another appearance at AEW this weekend alongside Junior Dos Santos and Andrei Arlovski. All three UFC fighters were present to cut a video promo for the promotion working with their coach Dan Lambert, who has been working with promotions in wrestling, such as AEW and IMPACT wrestling.

One of the most beloved stars in the UFC, Jorge Masvidal, brought his A-game to the event, charming the fans with his tag line ‘Super necessary’. According to prominent MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, Masvidal looked like WWE legend Ric Flair getting the crowd riled up and excited.

In fact, this isn’t the first time Jorge Masvidal has made his way to one of these events. Back in July, Jorge Masvidal made an appearance alongside UFC champion Amanda Nunes on an episode of Dynamite titled “Road Rager” in Miami, Florida.

In a recent interview, Tony Khan, the president of the AEW, gave his take on Masvidal becoming a regular attendee at their events. Further teasing a move to AEW by the UFC welterweight.

Anybody who knows Dan, love’s Dan, and that’s why Jorge comes, cause he loves wrestling. He likes having a good time; I think he likes me; I like Jorge a lot and it’s fun having him here. So, it’s really an honor to have Jorge Masvidal. I mean, Jorge is such a cool guy. I can’t tell you what a nice person he is, and he’s always really been good to me like not when we’re at shows but just around Florida and stuff. And it was a big deal for him to come here, and who knows?

Therefore, it won’t be a surprise if we saw Masvidal join other promotions in the future. And the AEW could certainly be a lucrative option.

What’s next for Jorge Masvidal?

Following his knockout loss against Kamaru Usman in the rematch, Masvidal has said he’s looking for a fight that will lead him back to the title shot. The BMF belt holder has undoubtedly become a superstar in the UFC despite his recent losses.

Perhaps a fight with his British rival Leon Edwards would make a lot of sense right now. However, Edwards, who is now on a ten-fight win streak in the UFC, is adamant to get his shot at the title.

Nevertheless, a rematch between Masvidal and Stephen Thompson seems like the best option as of now, especially considering their rankings in the welterweight division. The two first fought back in 2017 at UFC 217, with Thompson winning a unanimous decision against the Miami native.

As of now, both fighters are coming off a loss and have also come a long way in their careers since their last meeting.
