The world of wrestling faced great disappointment as the finals for the NCAA Wrestling Championship Finals came to an end. The finalist, Matt Ramos, fought against the three-time NCAA champion, Spencer Lee. Undoubtedly, the fight went back and forth with each fighter having an equal chance of winning. However, the world was simply not ready to see the fan favorite Lee get pinned down by an underdog with only a second left for the bell.

As the winning moment found its way to social media, the NCAA fans expressed themselves in the comments section. Without a doubt, the world expected to see Lee win the championship for the fourth time. However, fate had different plans. Although the fans were upset about the outcome of the match, they had nothing but love for the sport. Nevertheless, it was indeed an unforgettable moment for the world of combat sports.

Spencer Lee gets pinned down by Ramos

Iowa’s star wrestler dreamed of getting the NCAA championship title for the fourth time. Lee was pitted against Purdue’s Matt Ramos in the semifinals. Undeniably, the two wrestlers showed off their best skills on the mat. However, only one can proceed toward the finale.

Ramos pinned the star 125-pounder in the final moments of the match and stepped forward to enter the finals. The wrestler revealed his joy in an interview with ESPN’s Quint Kessenich. He said, “We train for this every day. Spencer is the guy to beat at 125. I’ve been working for that. He’s been in my head every single day. I’ve just been striving for it. I’m an All-American now. I’m in the national finals. You have to let it fly.”

Nevertheless, the fans were quick to reveal their disappointment as the video found its way to Instagram. The fans believed that Lee would rise victorious and get a shot at claiming the championship title. However, not everything goes as planned.
