UFC bantamweights Rob Font and Cody Garbrandt will take center stage in a headlining feature for UFC Vegas 27. Both men are ranked inside the top 5 and the winner will probably move closer to championship contention. However, with TJ Dillashaw vs Cory Sandhagen right around the corner, the winner with the most flair will likely pull ahead.
Rob Font and Cody Garbrandt are arguably two of the hardest-hitting 135-pounders in the division. Apart from being technically sound in several dimensions, the power factor is something that’s hard to put a cap on. The bantamweight division is temporarily stalled from a title fight perspective, however, the quality of available fights speaks for itself.

UFC Vegas 27: Rob Font vs Cody Garbrandt
New England Cartel’s own Rob Font is on an absolute tear and is riding a three-fight win streak. He violently TKO’ed Marlon Moraes in his last fight, firmly establishing himself as a threat to all bantamweights. His last defeat came to Raphael Assuncao in July 2018, who happens to be the last man Cody Garbrandt defeated.
Rob Font’s biggest weapon is that along with destructive power, he shoulders defense responsibly during the fight. Cody Garbrandt will likely cut angles and attempt to walk down Font, a scenario Font won’t play by. He also extends his range effectively, thus landing bombs whilst maintaining a safe distance.
As mentioned earlier, Cody ‘No Love’ announced his resurgence with a win over Assuncao. Prior to the knockout, he was on a three-fight skid and it seemed like his time at the top was a thing of the past. Stopping Assuncao with strikes is a feat only one other man has managed to accomplish.
‘No Love’ has been competing with a renewed sense of awareness that he maintains will be a permanent feature of his game. He’s put on astounding displays of dominance in the cage when he isn’t fighting emotionally. So long as he keeps his fundamentals in check, Garbrandt will be confident in his abilities.
