Conor McGregor is not one to mince his words. Many point to his wit, verbosity, trash-talking skills, and pizazz, as the reason the Irishman became the most popular fighter in mixed martial arts history as evidenced by the pay-per-view
And in recent times, any feel that McGregor had changed from the braggadocios but humble in defeat fighter fans fell in love with to simply a sore and ungracious loser as many think was demonstrated by his conduct after losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 two years ago. But, despite his recent ungraciousness, he tipped his hat to an incredible feat by an armless swimmer.

On his Instagram Stories, McGregor shared a reel by Jomboy who revealed that the Chinese swimmer Guo Jincheng had broken the record for the 50 m men’s freestyle swimming at the Para Swimming World Championships.

The feat seems to have impressed McGregor, and it is easy to see why. The disabled swimmer had a distinct and unique technique, which was different from other competitors, which saw him be almost still and his legs motoring with his head inside the water for almost the entire 30.9 second record-breaking length.

Conor McGregor has not fought in over two years. He’s been rehabbing from a broken leg sustained in his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. This season of The Ultimate Fighter, the Irishman serves as head coach. He faced Michael Chandler and his squad during a disappointing season in which Team McGregor lost all but one bout.

The TUF 31 finals took place on the undercard of UFC 292 earlier this year, and none of McGregor’s fighters made it. However, the Dubliner may still rescue the season and finish on a good note. The Dubliner is slated to face rival coach Chandler, and a win there would go a long way toward making supporters forget his pitiful season as coach. But, given the recent flip-flop by McGregor, the date remains unclear and fans are waiting for an official announcement by the UFC for clarity on the issue.
