The swimmer was not silent; the Joe Rogan podcast aired on March 7 is evidence of that.
The Joe Rogan Experience delivered an important message
Rogan hosted Gaines on his JRE podcast and the duo had an extensive discussion about the swimming community and sports for women. Gaines also talked about Lia Thomas and how she used to participate in the men’s category before transitioning herself into the female roster. According to her, this was unfair to the female swimmers because of the biological differences they had with Thomas.

Rogan asked Gaines whether there was any analysis of testosterone levels or a check if someone is taking inhibitors, and if the one-year HRT policies are there for 12 years and nothing has been done about it. She replied, “Correct, and now the NCAA, in true cowardly fashion, is changing course right they don’t want to be responsible.” Even after retiring, the young swimmer has always advocated for athletes in swimming.
