The surging UFC prospect recently showed off a fanboy moment on social media after discovering an old interaction with one of his sports idols. Paddy Pimblett is slowly becoming a popular name since his UFC debut. The Scouser is currently on an unbeaten run in the promotion since jumping ship from Cage Warriors. However, he has currently on the sidelines due to injury.
As Pimblett is nursing his wounds and awaiting a medical green light, he discovered an interaction with his idol and tennis icon, Roger Federer. What’s even more surprising is that Pimblett had no idea the interaction ever took place.

The lightweight shared a picture of the same on his social media and gave a shout-out to Federer.
How did Paddy Pimblett interact with Roger Federer?
Paddy Pimblett shared a screenshot of his interaction with Roger Federer in the comment section of one of Federer’s Instagram posts. The post dates all the way back to 15 September 2022. This was the date on which the 20-time Grand Slam champion announced his retirement from professional tennis.

Federer announced his decision through social media posts. Under one of those, Pimblett had left a remark. The Liverpool native wrote, “it’s a sad day for the tennis world. devastated never got to watch him play in person.”
However, it was only recently he discovered that Federer had responded to his comment. The 41-year-old wrote, “All the best to you.”

Having discovered Federer’s response, an elated Pimblett shared a picture of the same in his Instagram story. Additionally, he shared his excitement by writing, “Can’t believe only just seen the greatest tennis player and one of my sporting idols commented back to me. starstruck there @rogerfederer.”
This surprise news must be rejuvenating for Pimblett, who is undergoing a lengthy recovery at the moment. This also shows how much of an impact an icon like Roger Federer makes in the life of other athletes.
