Leon Edwards seems to be enjoying time away from the octagon. The UFC welterweight champion will make his Soccer Aid debut appearance today. He will be representing the Soccer Aid World XI FC. ‘Rocky’ was recently seen in a training session with Former England player and current Wrexham AFC goalkeeper, Ben Foster.
Leon Edwards proved the worth of his championship reign after defeating former champion Kamaru Usman twice in a row. He will now face former Interim champion, Colby Covington sometime during the summer. Edwards is also currently on an 11-fight winning streak.
Leon Edwards might consider soccer as an option

The annual British charity event, Soccer Aid, has attracted a lot of celebrities and athletes from various sporting worlds. Leon Edwards is one of the latest additions. Representing the World XI side, ‘Rocky’ dons the role of the goalie as he was seen training with Wrexham A.F.C’s goalkeeper, Ben Foster. A former England international, Ben Foster is not just your regular soccer player. He also has a YouTube channel with over 1.4 million subscribers and a popular podcast.

However, Ben Foster has played for many clubs and was a Premier League winner with Manchester United. He was training side by side with Leon Edwards as the UFC champion showed some good kicks and ball-stopping skills. ‘Rocky’ also looked bigger than usual. He looked as big as a light heavyweight. Edwards enjoyed his training session so much that believes that he could consider switching to the sport. He said, “That might be my second career.”
Despite his expertise in dishing out violence, the welterweight champion does not show the same bravery when it comes to soccer.
‘Rocky’ scared to catch the ball?
Leon Edwards has fought some of the toughest welterweights inside the Octagon. However, one of the players he was training with didn’t feel the same way. He said, “This guy is probably one of the toughest men in the world. Get in the Octagon with absolute animals.” Edwards’s training partner respects the fact that he’s fought some tough people and got hit with some hard blows in the UFC. On the contrary, things are different when it comes to soccer.

His training partner added, “[He] gets hit in the face, kneed in the face, whatever it, and then the ball come flying in and he turns his back. That’s what I found quite amusing.” It is certainly an unusual reaction from the welterweight champion.

Leon Edwards would look to continue his undefeated run against Colby Covington. The date and venue for the fight are yet to be announced by the UFC.
