Soccer star Sergio Ramos appearing at a recent UFC event made quite a few headlines. The ex-Real Madrid star showed up at UFC Jacksonville to support fellow Spaniard Ilia Topuria. Ramos took the time to meet Topuria after the event and posed for pictures with him.

In his prime, Ramos was one of the best defenders in global soccer. The former Real Madrid and Spanish national team captain has worn several international trophies at club level and country level, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Therefore, MMA fans practically had soccer royalty in attendance for the recent UFC event.

However, many fans did not know the extent of Ramos’ stardom as soccer is still a growing sport in the US. Therefore, their responses reflected they were unaware of the reach the sport of MMA would get with someone of Ramos’ caliber attending it.

Sergio Ramos shared a clip of him doing some shadowboxing at the UFC event via his social media. The PSG star has a reputation for his hot-headed behavior on the pitch, where he has been sent off numerous times. The fans who knew of his personality also had a laugh in the comment section after watching the clip.

The 37-year-old is the Spanish national team’s most-capped player to date. Earlier this year, he announced his retirement from the national team and is currently playing at club level for PSG.
