Chael Sonnen is known as the ‘Bad Guy’ in the world of UFC and MMA. He has earned this reputation owing to his smooth trash-talking, backed up by some Octagon performances. However, Sonnen looks to further increase his popularity, albeit notoriously in other sports, too. This time, soccer fans around the world will not be seeing ‘the greatest charm’ from the UFC legend. With his latest tweets, Sonnen may just have triggered the soccer fans by targeting one of their own.

Chael Sonnen is never shy to speak his mind. He also has a history of trash-talking South Americans at his peril. But that hasn’t stopped the ‘Bad Guy’ to say what he wants to anybody.

Chael Sonnen reacts to the GOAT tweets by Rooney

The ‘Bad Guy’ cannot be kept away from any news. Especially when it comes to reacting to a moment or situation, Sonnen always has his 2 cents to give for any happenings in the sport. This time he has crossed the boundaries and attacked one of the most popular soccer players on the planet, Lionel Messi.

Owing to the brilliance that Messi displays on the soccer field, it is no different for ex-players and managers to be in awe of the little Argentine. One such player that praised the 7-time Ballon D’or winner is MLS Manager Wayne Rooney. Rooney sent out a tweet that read, “Nothing has changed” followed by a ‘goat’ emoji. This was a reply to an earlier tweet that read, “Messi is a joke. For me the best ever.”

Chael Sonnen gave a reply in his style to the former Manchester United captain. Sonnen thrashed Messi and Rooney in a single tweet. It seemed like the former UFC middleweight has not lost touch with the smooth thrash-talking.

In his tweet, Sonnen is referring to Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney. This isn’t the first time Chael Sonnen has gone off against a South American athlete.

It seems that Sonnen is not a fan of soccer

Sonnen has stated his dislike for the beautiful game. ‘The American gangster’ had previously said, “It’s a long, drawn-out game. And no one wants to see it. I will tell you why, I’ll put it on. If I can make a dollar in soccer, I would’ve put it on.”

He further added, “I put on wrestling tournaments, I put on concerts, I put on raffle events, I put on mixed martial arts. I’ve never put on a soccer game ’cause I’m not sure that I can get anybody to come.”
