Surging up-and-comer Sharaputdin Magomedov stepped up to the level of competition at UFC Fight Night 250 when he took on Michael ‘Venom’ Page. Given that he showcased some phenomenal striking abilities, the Dagestan native was touted to become a champion soon by none other than global soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. However, ‘Bullet’ unfortunately suffered his first professional loss against Michael ‘Venom’ Page, as ‘CR7 watched on as fans started to believe that ‘Bullet’ was not what they thought he was.

Before UFC Fight Night 250 went down, Sharaputdin Magomedov had an encounter with Cristiano Ronaldo, where the duo exchanged jerseys and even had a chat about the former’s fight against Michael Page. But things didn’t turn out in ‘Bullet’s favor. Both Page and Magomedov had decided to stand and trade with each other, but Page got the better of the Dagestan native.

The decision to stand and trade may not have been the wisest decision for Sharaputdin Magomedov because Michael ‘Venom’ Page kept being on the offensive throughout the entire fight. From leaping right hands to the flying knee, the fight was going in favor of Page, and Magomedov appeared to have no answers at all.

Some fans even took shots at Sharaputdin Magomedov’s hype. “Shara FINALLY FRAUD CHECKED! tired of seeing him fight cans,” said one fan on social media after witnessing Sharaputdin Magomedov’s decision loss. Even Conor McGregor‘s former jiu-jitsu coach Dillon Danis chimed in by commenting, “Called it,” sharing the same sentiment as most fans. On the other hand, lightweight star Renato Moicano also shared a compliment for Michael Page’s performance. “Easy decision for MVP! Master of distance but too old! he would be very competitive if he got in ufc 10 years ago,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the thing that differentiated Sharaputdin Magomedov from the rest of the Dagestani fighters was his use of striking more than his use of grappling. As such, one fan claimed, “Shara is the first man to fight out of Dagestan and not know how to grapple,” highlighting the fact that his lack of grappling proved detrimental to his fight against Michael Page.

Even heavyweight star Derrick Lewis came out to add his thoughts to the fight. While he didn’t have anything to add for Magomedov, he did acknowledge the fact that Michael Page is a pretty tricky fighter. “I would hate to fight MVP,” he tweeted. While ‘Bullet’s been a middleweight for years, some fans loved to see ‘Venom’s performance as a 185’er. “MVP didn’t look bad at all as a middleweight. His frame very much holds up. Keep him in the “money weight division.” Give him the best strikers around at both 170 and 185 for whatever is left of his career. Wonderboy, Prates Costa, you know the drill,” said one fan in that regard.
