Talking about Mbappe, Gane said, “Mbappé is a great friend, and he and many other French futbol players want to come to my fight.” He further added, “A lot depends on their schedule in March, but my coach, Fernando Lopez, has invited many of the players.”

Gane last fought Tai Tuivasa in September. The fight was a to-and-fro affair. while Gane was initially floored by Tuivasa, he soon gained control and emerged as the victor. Gane’s record currently reads 11-1-0. He is also 3 years younger than Jon Jones. The age difference, however, stands negated as we look at Jon Jones’s career record of 26-1-0.

Both Ciryl Gane and Jon Jones will be going in with all cylinders firing. The heavyweight champion position is vacant and it will be calling both fighters. To have his friends cheering for him and encouraging him will undoubtedly help Gane, but UFC fans know that the fights in the cage rarely are won by just motivation and encouragement. It remains to be seen which fighter emerges victorious after the heavyweight clash.
