Pelé lost his battle against cancer

Pelé passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 82, due to complications from colon cancer. He had undergone surgery in September 2021. This was to remove a tumor from his colon. Moreover, he was undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
He was taken to the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, earlier on November 22. This time it was for general swelling and cardiac issues. In December, it was announced that his cancer had worsened, and he was being treated for kidney and cardiac dysfunctions.
