The former UFC interim champion, Colby Covington, has gone off on the undefeated Irish prospect, Ian Garry over the past few months. Their beef started all the way back from UFC 296, as they were both scheduled to fight on the main card of the event.
It led to “Chaos” taking jabs at the young prospect’s character and relationship, even going after his wife, Layla Anna-Lee. Covington has managed to get Garry pretty riled up through some of his comments. Following his win over Geoff Neal at UFC 298, he seems keen on setting things straight inside the octagon!

After a well-fought win against Geoff Neil at UFC 298, Ian Garry made sure to call out Colby Covington for a fight at the post-fight press conference. He made bold predictions by stating, “I promise you I will end that flight. I’ll finish that flight, and I’ll rid the UFC. I’ll rid the UFC of Colby Covington for once and for all. Like he needs to be gone. I’m sick of his nonsense. He’s a piece of shit.”
“Let him write his script. Let him do the panto let him do the act, let him do everything. I’m gonna get to punch him in the face. He can talk about me, my wife, my family, my kids, he can talk about whatever he wants,” said Garry, saying he would get a pass since he would eventually get his hands on the welterweight.
He went on to say that as long as Covington showed up to fight him, he would hurt him. Garry stated, “I will punch them out of him and I hope I hit him so hard. He’s never able to speak again.”
Given the animosity between the two welterweights, what actually started it off?

During the press conference of UFC 296, the former UFC welterweight champion didn’t hold back while taking shots at the Irish UFC prospect. Not only was Garry the target, but Covington also had nasty comments about Garry’s wife, Layla Anna-Lee. Covington made sure to paint the narrative that Garry’s wife was using him for her benefit.
Covington, in the press conference, said, “I was going to teach him a lesson, you know, just like I taught Leon a lesson. You don’t cross the boss, he tried to cross the boss and call the shots, and he couldn’t do it. The same lesson I’m gonna teach to Ian, you don’t make a h** a housewife.”
