Since its inception, PowerSlap, the unique slapping competition introduced by UFC president Dana White, has been no stranger to debates and controversies. However, the latest controversy has cast a darker shadow over the sport. Six PowerSlap fighters were banned by the Nevada Athletic Commission after testing positive for banned substances.
The suspensions, fines, and overturned results have raised concerns about the integrity of the sport and its future. The Nevada Athletic Commission made a significant decision by imposing full suspensions and fines on the six PowerSlap competitors who failed drug tests.

Nevada Athletic Commission chairman Anthony Marnell expressed disappointment over the number of positive drug tests in recent months, not only in PowerSlap but also in the PFL. Marnell emphasized that the situation undermines the efforts made to clean up the sport and tarnishes its reputation. Moreover, the commission is concerned about the misuse of state resources and the negative impact these controversies have on the sport’s image.
“This is a waste of time, state resources, as it’s degrading to the sport. We had this thing really cleaned up, and now all of a sudden in the last two meetings, I’ve heard more drug cases than I’ve heard in two years. It’s disappointing because that’s not where we were going.”
