Combat sports can be an unforgiving place for fighters. The fighters who put their bodies on the lines throughout their lives, the sports end up tolling a toll on the fighter’s repute. Similarly, the former UFC fighter Marlon Moraes became the latest addition on the list as he suffered a TKO loss on his PFL debut.

Notably, ‘Magic’ made a comeback from his retirement, as he chose to wear the MMA gloves one more time after signing with PFL. However, the fighter left the cage in a disappointing state.

How did the fans react to former UFC fighter Marlon Moraes’ loss?

The result saddened the fans as the Brazilian fighter lost the fight after a strong start.

One fan said, “For the love of God please stop letting Marlon fight. He CAN NOT absorb damage anymore. It’s getting sad.”

Another fan pointed out, “He was doing SO good too 😢”

Someone asserted, “He literally dominated the first two rounds and was winning the third😓”

An MMA enthusiast declared, “He always starts off so well and then just gets finished. Really sad to see. Hope he is okay”

Lastly, another fan stated, “Wow I feel so bad for this man. He’s insanely talented, just keeps fighting murderers, plus his chin😥 I actually don’t think he should retire, he’s still a world class fighter, now Dominick Reyes should retire”

How did the fight pan out?

Moraes entered the bout riding on a 4-loss streak of baggage. Notably, all his previous losses came via TKO.

Competing against Sheymon Moraes at PFL 10, he started strong and won the first two rounds. Following a dominant display in the first two rounds, the fighter also started the final round on a positive note.

However, as his opponent picked pace, the former UFC title challenger couldn’t dodge the fellow countryman’s left punch. And this secured him his fifth successive TKO loss.

Significantly, the 34-year-old fighter, after his TKO loss against Song Yadong, had decided to retire from MMA. Less than 6 months of leisure time had passed when the American Top Team representative called the day on his retirement to compete in the PFL’s $1 million featherweight tournament.
