Conor McGregor vouched for a UFC-rejected fighter
It is not often that Conor McGregor praises other fighters. Hence, when he does, it’s a big deal. And it is indeed a big deal for the PFL featherweight champion, Brendan Loughnane. McGregor congratulated Loughnane on his victory against Bubba Jenkins in the title fight in his tweet earlier and urged the UFC to sign him.
“UFC, sign Brendan Loughnane. Exciting fighter. A back story with the company. And of the European side. A money in the bank uk/Europe signing. Congrats on the win @BrendanMMA”, McGregor wrote.
Brendan Loughnane recently talked to Ariel Helwani and shared his thoughts on the UFC superstar’s gesture. He stated that the gesture was completely out of the blue.
“That just came out of nowhere,” said Loughnane. When asked if he has any relation with McGregor, he stated, “Yeah, we speak now and again on DMs and stuff. I thought that was really nice, out of nowhere… I was out in the pub, still drinking and someone was like, ‘Hey, Conor just tweeted you’ And I was like, that was really random. When Conor speaks, everyone listens.”
However, moving on, Loughnane made a concluding remark showing his loyalty towards PFL, “But yeah, I’m PFL, anyway.”

Dana White rejected Brendan Loughnane
Brendan Loughnane is certainly one tough fighter, and he has proven it with his recent win at PFL. However, he was rejected by Dana White, shattering his chances of being a part of the UFC. Loughnane won Dana White‘s Contender Series back in 2019 but couldn’t make it in the UFC.
Loughnane was rejected because Dana White wasn’t happy with the manner he fought. White went on to explain why Loughnane wasn’t a right fit for the UFC and said, “That’s not what I’m looking for”. However, things worked out pretty well for Brendan Loughnane in the end.
