Will Ngannou's PFL success inspire more fighters to leave the UFC for better pay?

The PFL is on course to make history as they are gearing up to spend big money this weekend at PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants. The Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira headliner extravaganza also features 2 additional title fights on the card. So it begs the question of how much the featured fighters will take home as their payout for the night.

The biggest PFL event of the year will have a former UFC champion in the main event. Can Francis Ngannou earn more money outside of the UFC? Well, Dana White doubted ‘The Predator’s’ chances of achieving that feat in other organizations than in his own. The CEO would even downplay his earnings from his two big-time boxing clashes against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Well, the Cameroonian native seems to be in a great financial position because he’s speculated to earn a massive 8-figure payout.

According to Forbes’ sources, Francis Ngannou is set to make more than a whopping $10 million. Although the figures aren’t confirmed yet, the estimations surrounding the Cameroonian-French star’s purse indicate that it’s going to be a career-high payout for the former UFC champion. On the other hand, his opponent, Renan Ferreira, is expected to earn at least $2 million (estimated), and that’s because of Ngannou.

When Francis Ngannou joined the PFL, he wanted to make sure that his opponents got an appropriate amount of money as the minimum payout, and guess what? Renan Ferreira, who’s probably in the brightest of spotlights for the first time, will take home way more than the average UFC fight purse, which is speculated to range around $80,000-$500,000.

Now, let’s move over and take a look at how much the women in their featured title fight on the card are going to earn.

How much will Cris Cyborg and Larissa Pacheco earn?

Despite her controversial exit from Dana White’s promotion in 2019, Cris Cyborg has maintained her position among WMMA’s elites. The multiple-time WMMA Awards winner will put her featherweight title for the sixth time against a game #2 ranked women’s featherweight (according to Fight Matrix) Larissa Pacheco in the co-main event, and even they are taking home a considerable amount of money for their 145lbs battle as well.

According to speculations, Cris Cyborg is estimated to make $1 million for her title defense, with an additional $750,000 as a bonus for her performance. Meanwhile, Larissa Pacheco is estimated to make half of what her opponent will make in her bid to unseat the dominant featherweight champion, a sum of $500,000 with an additional $350,000 as a bonus. This event will certainly create new records as it shows that the PFL is upping its game step by step.
