Kayla Harrison is all set to return to the cage after her first career loss. However, she is not happy with how PFL is treating her when she wants to come back to fight. She was an undrafted fighter before her bout against Larissa Pacheco in November 2022 at the PFL Championships. At the moment, she is looking to have a rematch against Pacheco to avenge her loss. The 32-year-old’s record stands at 15 victories and one loss at the present. Her loss via decision after the 5th round against Pacheco is considered one of the most tragic losses in the history of the PFL.
Currently, she has two bouts left to fight as per her new contract. This year, there is a high chance for her to fight against another big name in the main event of PFL’s first pay-per-view card. Harrison was not happy with the format of the promotion, and she openly talked about the same. The abrupt changes that come in between scheduled fights and the tiring long seasons made her run out of steam. Now, the former world champion Judoka has once again openly talked about her relationship with the promotion.

Kayla Harrison is unhappy with PFL
Harrison appeared in ‘The MMA Hour’ and spoke to Ariel Helwani. During the conversation, she expressed her wish to fight in the 2023 PFL season. Harrison said, “I wanted to be there, of course, I wanted to be in that season… That’s not what they want me to do. They wanted me to fight in the pay-per-view.” Talking further on the matter, she detailed, “I get paid a lot of money. I think that they feel like that’s not the best way to utilize me. I think that they want to put me on a pay-per-view card against a big name.”
She added, “I‘ve been a little bit depressed about it and like it’s hard to watch something you have built, no matter how awakened and peaceful I’m. The world is still moving forward and I’m sitting right here. Sometimes it is hard, sometimes it’s hard like sh*t, ‘I want to do that. I want to fight. I just don’t want to sit and talk about fight’. So it’s frustrating.” Harrison was candid while she talked about how the PFL was bringing about changes that didn’t sit well with her.
