Francis Ngannou wholeheartedly agrees with Jon Jones’s recent threats to hang up his gloves for good. After all, the whole world wants ‘Bones’ to fight interim champ Tom Aspinall. But Jones has asked for “f**k you money” to fight the Englishman. Otherwise, the ‘undisputed’ king is more than happy to walk away from the sport.
And Ngannou, who actually walked away from the UFC because the promotion wouldn’t give him terms he feels he deserved, is predictably in favor of Jones making such threats. Speaking to ‘TMZ Sports’ in a recent interview, the PFL champ opined that all the talks that ‘Bones’ is scared of fighting the young, hungry, and wildly talented Aspinall were just underhanded tactics from Dana White and Co. to get Jones into the octagon with Aspinall.
“They [the UFC] use that in the negotiation to say ‘Oh no he doesn’t want to fight this guy, he’s scared,’ and then that’s how the machine works. And I think he’s[Jones is] in the position to claim like what he wants,” ‘The Predator’ said.

In addition, Ngannou thought that since Jones held all the cards at the moment, it was but logical for him to make sure he maximized his payout for a possible Aspinall fight.
“As he said he said Aspinall needs that fight, I don’t need it. And when you look at it [its] pretty much true. There’s nothing that he’s going to make, have more in winning that fight, if it’s not money, you know. But for Aspinall, who is someone coming and trying to cement his way in the division, that would be everything,” he added.

Is Jon Jones right to demand 'f**k you money,' or is he dodging Aspinall's challenge?

And Jones has gone all in, mockingly changing his Instagram profile picture to that of a duck, showing fans exactly what he thinks about the ducking allegations. On the other hand, Tom Aspinall seems to think he will get to fight Jones after all. But that is by no means a foregone conclusion.

Fans fear a Ngannou-like fate for Jones as title unification negotiations go on
Tom Aspinall had promised ‘big news’ after meeting with Dana White and the UFC brass last week. The interim champ seemed remarkably optimistic about a Jones title unification bout happening, but nothing is certain for now. After all, the Englishman took to his YouTube channel a couple of days ago, where he revealed that things are still in the negotiation stage for a Jones fight.
“We are in negotiations right now is the honest answer. So we don’t know when the fight is gonna be. But I’ll be ready to go whenever. I’m back in the gym now… I’ll be ready to fight when they let me know… Obviously, I want to fight as soon as possible but right now we are just waiting for a date. That’s it,” he said.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the negotiation with Jones will be successful. After all, Jones reportedly got between $5 to $7 million to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. And he seemingly wants to make significantly more to fight the interim champ. But the UFC is not one to be blackmailed or give in to pressure, as they showed by letting Ngannou, the then-reigning heavyweight champ go.
There is a not insignificant chance that they let Jones retire too if the latter’s demands seem unreasonable to the promotion. What do you think about Francis Ngannou’s defense of Jon Jones?
