Demetrious Johnson is one of the best mixed martial artists in the world. The flyweight, nicknamed ‘Mighty Mouse’ can do things other fighters can only dream about. His suplex armbar against Ray Borg back in 2017 is one of the most stunning moves ever pulled in a fight.

And MMA enthusiast and commentator Joe Rogan, on the JRE Fight Companion for UFC 293 earlier this week discussed just how good Johnson is and why he and the flyweight division are not as popular as they deserve to be.

Rogan began by praising the flyweight division as full of talented fighters who are very quick owing to their smaller size. However, he felt that their small size was probably the reason the division is not as popular among fans as it should be. He then commended former UFC and current ONE FC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson as one of the greatest martial artists he had ever seen, along with being a great guy.

“Bro flyweight is such a good weight class. It is nuts. Flyweights are so fast. It sucks that people don’t, like, appreciate them because they’re so small. Like [Mighty Mouse] never got his just dues. He’s the best like the most beautiful expression of martial arts I’ve ever seen. he’s awesome. And he’s such a great guy. Mighty mouse is the fu*king man,” Rogan told his guests.

‘DJ’ beat the Muay Thai maestro in the second round via a rear naked choke hold, proving why he is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. ‘DJ’, of course, left the UFC in 2018 and joined ONE FC after disagreements with the UFC over pay-per-view cuts and fight pay. The flyweight has, of course, found a lot of success in ONE and is being paid what he thinks he deserves, which is ultimately what the fight business is all about.
