There is no shortage of speculation regarding Francis Ngannou and when he will be fighting next. There have been rumors of him discussing contracts with other MMA promotions after his controversial exit from Dana White‘s company. Now, word has spread that ‘The Predator’ could join ONE Championship. Its CEO, Chatri Sityodtong. has provided an update on that front.
Francis Ngannou hasn’t fought since leaving the UFC in January. Many people even claimed that the window was closing for the French-Cameroonian fighter and that he must choose his next option as soon as possible. However, he is not short of offers. Ngannou has been approached by multiple organizations, and one of them is ONE Championship.

Chatri Sityodtong recently made an appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’ with combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani to discuss ‘The Predator’ coming to his promotion. He said, “He [Ngannou] has a bunch of offers on the table. He’s waiting for our final offer.” Sityodtong mentioned that he has a scheduled meeting with Ngannou over the weekend.

Sityodtong mentioned that the deal they are going to offer the former UFC champion has to work for both parties involved. He said, “For sure, ONE can give him the biggest offer on the table out of all his bids. But it has to work for him [and] it has to work for us.”
Sityodtong claims Ngannou’s taking his time
Helwani mentioned that many believe that ‘The Predator’ may have blown his chances for longer than he should have. But the ONE Champion CEO stated that Francis Ngannou is a methodical person. So he is taking his time before making any unwise moves. Chatri Sityodtong said, “I think there is going to be big news on Francis shortly. I think he is taking his time.”

Sityodtong mentioned that he admires the way Francis Ngannou maintains his principles and does not rush on making decisions. He also claims that ‘The Predator’ has the ability to take on all the heavyweights in other organizations.

As a heavyweight in MMA, Sityodtong believes Ngannou can only find a challenge at ONE Championship if he truly wants one. Bellator and the PFL, both potential suitors to Ngannou, don’t offer the same level of talent at heavyweight.
