There are few sports that are as or more dangerous than combat sports. While MMA may be more bloody and hurtful in the short term, it does not concuss fighters like boxing and football. All football fans are aware of the very common issue of NFL players suffering from CTE. It came to the point that over 45,000 former NFL players and their representatives sued the NFL in 2012.

The league settled with them, shelling out $765 million in an out-of-court settlement. Horror stories of NFL players suffering catastrophic injuries are common. And former NFL Defensive End Derek Wolfe shared such stories of his personal experiences with near-death injuries in his appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast. This had a huge impact on one particular listener, who sent him a message of thanks that Joe Rogan shared on his social media.
