Former UFC Title Challenger Once Shared a Video of NFL Legend Tom Brady Getting ‘Absolutely Destroyed’ in Japan

A former UFC welterweight title challenger once shared a video of NFL legend Tom Brady getting annihilated by sumo wrestlers in Japan on his official Twitter account.

Tom Brady is inarguably one of the best quarterbacks on the planet. He has gone head to head against some of the toughest athletes in the NFL and holds numerous records under his name.

However, the 6’4 and 225 pounds legendary quarterback was nothing against a sumo wrestler in Japan. Apparently, the NFL was on a promotional tour in Asia for Under Armour in 2017.

It was then that Brady and his son spent some time with the sumo wrestlers. The former Patriots quarterback was initially awestruck as he watched the sumo wrestlers engage in combat.

Later, the NFL legend took off his shirt and squared off against a sumo wrestler. An average sumo wrestler weighs around 325 pounds, which is 100 pounds more than Brady.

His NFL experience was therefore useless in combating the sumo wrestler. In the ring, Brady did not even move the wrestler. Jake Shields, a former middleweight champion of Strikeforce, later shared the video on Twitter with the caption, “Watch The NFL’s Tom Brady Get Absolutely Destroyed By Sumo Wrestlers.”

Shields was one of the most prominent fighters who competed against the likes of Georges St-Pierre, Tyron Woodley, and Dan Henderson. However, he retired from the sport with a 31-9 professional MMA record under his name.

Although Shields has retired from the sport, he is always in the news for his uncanny tweets on Twitter. The former UFC welterweight never shies upon from sharing his thoughts on controversial topics.

Similarly, the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu representative once shared his take on Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling. And also backed her on Twitter. Apparently, the author was under fire from netizens for her comments dedicated to a community.

Talking about the same a writer on Twitter took a dig at Rowling. While replying to the writer, Shields wrote, “She just truth over delusion.” He further uploaded another Tweet, explaining his support to the writer.

Previously, he also chimed in his thoughts on Brittney Griner’s situation in Russia. Even though the former UFC fighter occasionally faces backlash for his comments, he continues talking about such divisive subjects on social media.
