Tafa was facing Austen Lane, a former NFL star in his 7th UFC fight. Lane accidentally hurt Tafa’s eyes just 29 seconds into the bout. Soon, Dan Miragliotta, the official, stepped in right away, ordering a timeout and warning Lane. Tafa revealed that he had not suffered any major damage to his eyes, though some damage had occurred. While his right eye remained in pain and his left eye suffered from blurred vision and light sensitivity, Tafa expressed gratitude that his career had not been jeopardized.
