The named stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, Greg Fitzsimmons joined Rogan on one such episode of ‘JRE’. The two talked about how people can overcome every criticism if they are exceptional in their own field.

Fitzsimmons pulled up the example of NFL quarterback, ‘Colin Kaepernick’. Kaepernick protested in the US by kneeling during the playing of the American national anthem at the beginning of an NFL game in 2016.

Talking about Kaepernick, Fitzsimmons mentioned, There’s an argument that he was driven out for his politics.” Rogan was quite ignorant about Kaepernick’s on-field stats as he asked, “How was his performance? I don’t know much about football.”

Fitzsimmons also stated that Kaepernick was considered “a first rated starting quarterback.” Rogan asked in a bewildered tone, “They stopped using him because of his protests?” Fitzsimmons replied, “Obviously, it’s quantifiable to some degree.”

Simplifying the situation, Rogan stated, “If he was the LeBron James of quarterbacks, if he was just like this undeniable motherf**ker of motherf**ker quarterbacks, I bet he would’ve got away with it.” Fitzsimmons was in agreement with Rogan as he said, “He was on the bubble. He was not an elite quarterback.”

Rogan believes that as Colin Kaepernick wasn’t the absolute best at what he did, he had to face the consequences of his ‘kneel down’ protest.

Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with.
