Zhang Weili is all set to fight Yan Xiaonan at UFC 300 for the strawweight title. Weili has held the championship since beating Carla Esparza at UFC 281. The co-main event of one of the biggest pay-per-views in UFC history will see her defend it for the second time.

Xiaonan herself fought off a former champion, Jessica Andrade to secure a championship bout against Zang. Interestingly, Andrade was the one that Zhang beat to secure her title in the very first place. So, now that the co-main is overhead, what song is Zhang walking out to?

The last time we saw Zhang Weili was when she went up against Amanda Lemos at UFC 292. The fight went on for its entire duration of five rounds and in the end, the reigning champion was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

During her walkout at the pay-per-view, Zhang used the song “Swordsman & Sea of Laughter” from Swordsman II by Huang Zhan. It’s a 1992 action adventure period film that stars icons such as Jet Li, Brigitte Lin, and Rosamund Kwan. Here’s how the film describes its plot:

“Ling Wu-Chung, the former leader of Sun Moon sect, has to fight for one last time against the evil Uncle Fong in order to save kidnapped Princess Yin-Yin.” The film came out of a Hong Kong-based studio and Zhang Weili is the first-ever Chinese champion of the UFC.

Of course, she’s decided to stay true to her roots by using the Cantonese version of the song. The question is, will she use the exact same song as she walks out to fight Yan Xiaonan who also represents China at UFC 300? Here are some other songs she’s used before.

Zhang Weili has previously walked out to the exact same song that is “Swordsman & Sea of Laughter” by Huang Zhan. When she fought in the infamous brawl against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 275 as well as her title-winning fight against Carla Esparza.

So essentially it looks like the strawweight champ isn’t exactly one to keep switching her songs out every time she makes an entrance. Her UFC 300 walkout song would then be a surprise if it’s anything other than what we’ve seen so far.
