Undisputed UFC strawweight champion, “Magnum” Zhang Weili will take on the no.1 ranked UFC strawweight contender, Yan Xiaonan at the historic UFC 300 event. Weili is arguably one of the greatest champions as she has triumphed over some of the top fighters in the division. “Magnum” isn’t a fighter who likes surrounding herself in controversies or rumors, however, she has found herself entangled in one not long back.

Zhang Weili is one of the most beloved fighters in the strawweight division. This is due to her bright and optimistic character. This could also be the reason why fans were left stunned seeing the Chinese champ gel up with the promotion’s most controversial fighter, Colby Covington.

UFC 268 headlined Kamaru Usman defending his UFC welterweight strap against none other than Colby Chaos Covington. The same card featured the UFC strawweight champ at the time, Rose Namajunas defending her strap against Zhang Weili at the co-main event. Zhang Weili would have her first encounter with “Chaos at the press conference for the event.

Colby Covington never fails to bring the heat and drama whenever he is featured in the UFC events. UFC 268 was no different. Nonetheless, the UFC 268 event would also feature a wholesome encounter between Zhang Weili and Colby Covington.

Zhang Weili during the press conference was asked how she felt sitting next to “Chaos”. The 34-year-old answered saying “Handsome” and went on to say that she felt very safe and secure sitting next to the American. This would not be the only time the two had an interaction.

She would take to her Instagram to thank her fans for the love and support she received defending her title at the event. But unbeknownst to anyone’s expectations, the former UFC interim welterweight champion.

Colby Covington visited the comments section of the post congratulating “Magnum” for her win at the UFC event. The comment from “Chaos” wrote, “So happy for you.” However, what left fans stunned was Weili’s reply to Covington’s comment. Weili replied writing, “Thank you, handsome.”

Zhang Weili’s unexpected reply would leave fans confused, questioning whether the two fighters had something going on between them. But are they seeing each other?

The friendship between Zhang Weili and Colby Covington is one that most fans failed to predict. The interactions that the two had between them were enough to make UFC fans jump to conclusions, speculating if the two have been dating.

However, despite the speculations, there has not been any confirmation by either Covington or Weili on the rumor. Most of their interactions were at press conferences and social media so it would seem like a stretch to consider that the two would be dating.
