When Dana White took over the UFC, it was struggling to find venues for its events. Donald Trump had offered White one of his hotels as a host at that time, which the UFC CEO is still grateful for, as he keeps reminding us of this every chance he gets. This is also the reason why White is such a vocal Trump supporter to this day.

But things have changed a lot in the two decades since Dana White has been in charge of the promotion. To the point that the UFC has returned to the iconic Madison Square Garden for the seventh time. And it has also gone from being considered human cockfighting to a respectable mainstream sport that sees stars in attendance. And Dana White revealed exactly which celebrities will attend the upcoming UFC 295.

Dana White has been on a media blitz ahead of UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He was asked which celebrities would be in attendance at UFC 295. To this, the UFC CEO revealed that comedian Bill Burr, and actors Zac Efron, and Cillian Murphy will be attending the event.

“Bill Burr’s coming, we got Zack Efron coming. We got, what’s that kid the from Peaky Blinders [Cillian Murphy]. Yeah, that’ll be an awesome bunch of guys [at UFC 295],” White told Adam’s Apple YouTube channel.

To be fair, this is not a very impressive list when compared to boxing. This perhaps serves as a barometer for the popularity of the sport in popular culture. The recent crossover super-fight between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, for example, saw some of the biggest boxers in history rub shoulders with film stars, pop stars, and sports royalty.

UFC 295 to see a change of guard in the division

For the UFC 295 main event, Jiri Prochazka will take on Alex Pereira for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title in a potential striking masterclass. Originally supposed to be headlined by the heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, the fight was canceled after Jones pulled out due to an injury.

Instead, the UFC has replaced it with Tom Aspinall vs. Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title. This bout marks the changing of the guard in the heavyweight division with the 41-year-old Miocic being at the end of his career and Jones’ likely retirement after the Miocic fight. Had the main event remained the same, maybe we could’ve witnessed more major names attending the event.
