Tony Ferguson failed to enter the win column in his sixth consecutive attempt after Bobby Green choked him out at UFC 291. Following that fight, ‘El Cucuy’ stated that he had been poked in the eye during the fight. However, his former rival and lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos did not show much sympathy for Ferguson.

‘El Cucuy’ had a lot of pressure to win his UFC 291 fight more than any other fighter on the card. He was trying to break his streak of five consecutive losses dating back to 2020.
