Is coffee the first thing you consume every morning? If yes, Joe Rogan might be no different. But recently, he tried to stay off caffeine. This was despite him being friends with Evan Hafer, the founder, and CEO of Black Rifle Coffee Company. So how did Rogan’s experiment go? From what he shared, it looked like he didn’t have a good time.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a picture of a packet of Black Rifle Coffee alongside a black mug filled with the drink. In the caption, the 56-year-old podcaster wrote, “So, I wanted to see what it’s like to take the day off caffeine. I was good until about 5:30 pm, and I started feeling hungover and like my brain was replaced with wet cotton. I won’t be doing that again.”

However, this isn’t the first time Rogan subtly endorsed the brand. Back in March 2022, he wrote on Instagram, “Not only does @blackriflecoffee have the best coffee, but they have the coolest artwork for their bags too!”

Previously, on an episode of the JRE podcast, while in conversation with Andrew Huberman, Rogan inquired, “doesn’t caffeine just make you feel like you’re not tired?” To this, the neuroscientist explained that caffeine is an adenosine antagonist, and thus blocks the adenosine receptors, allowing one to feel less fatigued. Thus without caffeine, one immediately sees a dip in energy and crashes.

Huberman also further gave a solution to avoid this. He suggested skipping caffeine intake for 90 minutes after waking up because this allows the adenosine receptors to work on their own and thus makes one feel less fatigued later.

Further, Rogan’s discussion on the same with Michael Pollan, author of ‘This is Your Mind on Plants’, also found traction among several fans who struggle with a caffeine addiction. In his attempt to quit caffeine for three months, Pollan seemed to have faced drastic withdrawal effects: “I felt out of my body. I felt like I had contracted ADD.” Nevertheless, Pollan also confessed to Rogan that he did fall back on caffeine intake and his research thankfully showed that the positives of caffeine addiction do outweigh the negatives.

Now, as soon as Rogan shared the recent Black Rifle Coffee post on Instagram, fans all over the world took to the comments section and expressed themselves. Unfortunately, the UFC color commentator wasn’t safe from being branded as a coffee addict.

Joe Rogan’s followers surely had a lot to say!

Without wasting a single moment, the fans on Instagram took over the comments section with their thoughts. One fan had some advice for Rogan. The comment read, “Might wanna seek help.” “Sounds like you’re unbelievably addicted”, wrote another fan. A few other fans went straight to the point and declared, “You are a drug addict”, “Wow bro you’re addicted” and “Sounds like an addiction…”

Did you know that Joe Rogan loves Starbucks? But there’s one thing about the business he doesn’t like. Back in 2014, he wrote, “Dear Starbucks, your coffee is great but these f**king dopey Oprah quotes you put on the cups make the baby Zeus cry for the future of humanity. If you can make a worldwide business as huge as awesome as Starbucks I’m sure you guys are smart enough to know these quotes are dumb as f*ck. Please cut the sh*t.”

However, coming back to the recent post in question, some of the fans sided with Rogan, reflecting on their experience. One person commented, “The caffeine headaches are the worst. Happens to me every time I try to do no caffeine.” Meanwhile, another fan deemed the addiction an enjoyable one. The fan wrote, “We have the same issue Mr Rogan. Coffee is an addiction. A very enjoyable one :).”

Nevertheless, there were fans who seemed concerned about the UFC commentator and provided him with solutions. One fan commented, “Haven’t had caffeine in a year, don’t be a slave to substances! After two weeks you get over the withdrawal.” But the question is: Does Joe Rogan want to quit caffeine? Doesn’t seem like it.
