Lightweight contender Beneil Dariush suffered his first UFC loss in almost five years. He lost to a returning Charles Oliveira via a technical knockout that put the Brazilian back in championship contention. However, ‘Benny’ has promised his fans that he’ll come back stronger in his next UFC fight.

Beneil Dariush’s hard-earned winning streak came to an end at UFC 289. He started the fight strong by taking ‘Do Bronx’ down on the mat and controlling that position with his excellent ground game. When both fighters got back on their feet, Oliveira surprised Dariush with a head kick, dazing the 4th-ranked lightweight. He followed it up with a flurry of punches which ultimately made the referee call for the fight to stop.

However, people were expecting the fight to go for more than one round. Dariush took to social media and shared thoughts about the fight on Instagram. He believes that the result is what God had planned for him all along. Dariush said, “God is good.

He let his fans know that he was safe and didn’t suffer any serious injuries after the TKO finish. Moreover, the 4th-ranked lightweight promised his fans to come back stronger than before and that everything happens for a reason. Dariush added, “I’m ok. I’ll heal up and be back. [All glory to God].”

However, there were others who claim that he belongs on the prelims card after witnessing his UFC 289 performance. They also believe that Dariush is overrated as a fighter.
