Is Sean O'Malley stirring the pot, or does he have a point about Merab Dvalishvili's actions?

The fire between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili witnessed higher temperatures as the bantamweight champion bashed his opponent with sarcastic comments. It was indeed in response to the altercation that Dvalishvili got himself into at the Craig Jones Invitational grappling tournament.

Soon after a video clip of the altercation traversed the lands of social media, ‘Suga’ decided to talk about it in his talk show. But the fight fans didn’t expect O’Malley to ask them to stop making fun of ‘The Machine’.

Dvalishvili arrived at the Thomas & Mack Center to support some of his friends at the competition. However, when a fan hurled some insults at the Georgian mixed martial artist, his rage knew no bounds. He jumped over a couple of security fences and grabbed the O’Malley fan by his hair. But for the bantamweight champ, it was a hilarious affair. He said, “One of the fans, whoever the fan is, I need to get your information because it was funny, said, ‘Sean is your daddy’ or something like that. That’s what I heard. I don’t know how true that is.”

O’Malley recounts the event sarcastically claiming that it was a display of the finest form of stoicism. ‘Suga’ even made fun of ‘The Machine’ as he struggled to jump over the 3ft high fences. However, when Dvalishvili confronted the fan, O’Malley had only one message for the world as he asked the fighting community to stop making fun of his opponent.

The UFC champ said, “He grabs his hair, which is assault and he could be sued for assaulting a civilian. You’re not allowed to assault somebody. You can’t put your hands on somebody. Attention all ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley fans, will you guys please, from the bottom of my heart, quit making fun of Merab. He can’t handle it. He’s very insecure. His nose is f***ed up. He doesn’t need you guys to telling him that I’m his dad. So, would you guys please quit making fun of Merab? His self-esteem is not very high right now. Lay off of that a little bit.”

The duo are set to resolve their issues and fight with the bantamweight championship title at stake, at UFC 306. Most of the fight fans seem to believe that O’Malley can easily defeat Dvalishvili. However, Joe Rogan doesn’t seem to think so.

Joe Rogan predicts Dvalishvili will pose a great threat to the champ

During episode #159 of the JRE MMA Show, Rogan and Quinton Jackson had an elaborate talk about the matchup between O’Malley and Dvalishvili. The JRE host was completely in support of the Georgian fighter, even though he acknowledged the fighting prowess of O’Malley. Moments after the discussion began, Rogan claimed that Dvalishvili was an unstoppable force that tended to grow bigger and better every time he entered a bout.

This was the reason why he believed that the matchup was going to be pretty tough for the champ. He said, “He’s the worst matchup for Sean, the worst matchup on paper for Sean in that division is Merab. Because if you have a chance to beat Sean, how would you beat him? You got to take him down, right?”

However, the Georgian’s inability to listen to trash talks was highly dissed by the champ. But the outcome of the fight is something that only time can tell. Who do you think will win in the fight between O’Malley and ‘The Machine’? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
