Colby Covington is nowhere close to being done. He may have lost his opportunity to win the welterweight title, but he hasn’t lost his spirit just yet. Covington recently showed up for a conversation with Tucker Carlson, and he had one fighter on his mind. Who was it?

‘Chaos’ and his brand of trash talk don’t get old. Fans are now witnessing him going after young Irish star Ian Garry and his wife, Layla Machado Garry. And only one of the two can face him inside the Octagon. So, will Garry accept the fight and react to the callout? Is it insulting enough? Here’s what Covington said.

Ian Garry has been the scapegoat for many UFC fighters after his relationship with his wife was exposed. Fighters from weight classes that are not his own went out of their way to comment on his personal life. So how could someone like Covington hold back?

During his conversation with Carlson, he brought up Garry without really mentioning his name. He called out his wife, Layla Machado Garry, and mentioned her published work, ‘How To Be a Wag’, and explained it to Carlson. Most importantly, he noted that he would be so happy with a fight with Garry inside the cage.

“… the girl was selling a book called wag which means wife and girlfriend so she was like promoting that you know she had a boyfriend (and) she had a husband,” said Covington “… I said that’s disgusting you know you’re a c*ck and and you know your wife is a is a vile lady… I think he (Garry) probably wants to settle the differences in the Octagon and just so happens I like to fight in the Octagon.”

Win or lose, no one can deny that Covington is capable of putting on a show. He put up a worthy defense against Leon Edwards, and he could do the same against Ian Garry. In fact, he could even come up as the winner thanks to his experience. But will the fight ever happen? And the bigger question is, will Covington really come back to the cage?

UFC veteran thinks ‘Chaos’ might be done

A UFC insider like Chael Sonnen is a rather helpful voice when it comes to shedding light on things. And this fact became concerning when Sonnen told the world that he wasn’t sure about Covington returning to the cage any longer. It is interesting to note that he and ‘Chaos’ have been good friends for a while.

Sonnen mentioned that he wasn’t sure about Covington fighting again. The loss to Edwards was rather terrifying. So Sonnen didn’t know if we would “see Colby Covington again”. Now, that sentence could mean several things. Does Covington drop his character or change it? Or does he retire from the cage entirely? So far, ‘Chaos’ himself has said nothing of the sort. Would you like to see him back in the Octagon again soon?
