One of the biggest stars ever created by the UFC is Conor McGregor. The Irishman has achieved some indomitable feats inside the Octagon. McGregor is a two-weight division champion of the UFC, a feat very few have achieved to date.
‘Mystic Mac’ is known for his furious, left-hand strikes and brutal trash-talking on the mic. His trash-talking often extends to his social media handles as well. Recently, McGregor took to Twitter once more to re-ignite his bitter rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Islam Makhachev emerged as the victor in his bout against Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 280 and was crowned the new UFC lightweight champion. He was initially coached by Khabib Nurmagomedov’s late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The ’31-year-old’ Dagestani displayed tremendous respect toward Khabib and his late father, Abdulmanap, in his post-fight interview.
McGregor thought he could get the better of Khabib
Makhachev handed his lightweight championship belt to his mentor, Khabib. He also talked about how it was his late coach’s dream to see him and Khabib dominate the UFC which had come to life at UFC 280.
‘Mystic Mac’ was unimpressed by Makhachev and Khabib boasting about them taking over the lightweight division of the UFC.
He put out a tweet on his Twitter account, which was shared by ‘MMAFighting’. McGregor answered Nurmagomedov in his tweet, stating, “I have the system to hurt this style of fighting guys I am telling you. Bro is a s**t jocks. Fat mouth shut your mouth you’ve done nothing against your fathers wishes and run. It’s not fathers plan completed yet, pal, you know. Your people know and they talk about you.”

It was apparent that McGregor still wasn’t over his bitter rivalry with Nurmagomedov. He was of the opinion that he had the measures to stop the Dagestani fighters and get the better of their fighting style.

McGregor also derided Nurmagomedov by calling him a “fat mouth”. He also mocked him, stating that he had gone against his father’s wishes and ran away from the Octagon.
Nurmagomedov was the unbeaten lightweight champion when he retired from the UFC. He can boast a record of 29-0. But, Nurmagomedov bid goodbye to the Octagon after his father’s death.

McGregor took a dig at this and labeled this as running away. He tried to imply that if Nurmagomedov were to fulfill his father’s dreams, he should’ve continued fighting in the UFC. He also said that Nurmagomedov’s late father’s plan was “not completed yet”.
McGregor clearly thought that Nurmagomedov fighting in the UFC would have served his father’s dreams better than just cornering Makhachev. Or was ‘The Notorious One’ taunting ‘The Eagle’ to get back in order to get his rematch?
