A resurfaced video of a young Khabib Nurmagomedov responding to a question about the UFC ring girls further proves this point.

Ring girls have been an integral part of the combat sports business for years now. Familiar faces like Arianny Celeste and Brittney Palmer are popular among fight fans. In the UFC, the commentators also acknowledge them as they announce each round. Therefore, Nurmagomedov’s comments about the purpose of ring girls in the promotion were not well-received. Nevertheless, he has always maintained his stance, while giving them their due respect.

In an old clip that surfaced on Twitter, we see a much younger Khabib Nurmagomedov in an interview. As he prepared for a question, the interviewer told him ahead that it was going to be a “provocative” question.

He then proceeded to ask ‘The Eagle’ about the beautiful UFC ring girls like Arianny Celeste and Brittany Palmer. He asked the Russian if he saw them, and the former champion said yes.

Then he asked Nurmagomedov who he preferred or if he disliked both of them. The ever-classy Russian responded, “They are both not bad. But let’s not talk about someone else’s women.” Sensing Nurmagomedov’s reluctance on the subject, the interviewer chuckled and agreed.

During an interview for a YouTube channel, Arianny Celeste recounted a ringside incident involving Khabib Nurmagomedov that really scared her. Unsurprisingly, it was the UFC 229 brawl that ensued after the Russian’s victory over Conor McGregor.

“Scary,” said Celeste after the interview hosts recounted the tense moments from the night. Nurmagomedov had jumped into the McGregor camp after submitting the Irishman just seconds before. This caused a lot of chaos, with people trying to get away from the brawl inside and outside the octagon. While the Dagestani’s teammates were attacking McGregor inside the octagon, he was determined to get his hands on Dillon Danis. To this day, it remains one of the darkest chapters in UFC’s history.
